Payment market in Denmark

Being a foreign company - it's hard to choose the right payment methods in Denmark. Here is a little guide.

Most payments online are done with Dankort. PBS runs some great statistics about the development in card transactions.

There’s a couple of national advantage programs with own cards: LO-Plus, Forbrugsforeningen and LIC are the major ones. You often pay around 10% discount to the members and around 1% in administrative costs to the organization.

DIBS holds an extellent list of payment methods: http://www.dibs.dk/produkter/dibs-internet/products-table-single/. Also Netgiro has a very good overview: http://www.netgiro.com/payment_methods.aspx

PBS (national due to Governmental restricted fee)  should handle:
• Dankort
• Danish VISA + VISA Electron
• Danish MasterCard
• Integration with local advance cards
• Direct payments through banks like Nordea E-betaling, Danske Netbetaling and others through E-dankort (e-dankort is to expensive).
